As the research sector, we have been guiding institutions and brands for many years. With the insights we produce, we work to better understand people in rapidly changing conditions. It is a source of pride for me to be the president of our association, where the research world meets and where the heart of our sector beats, for two years. Together with TÜAD's new management, current members and new members who will join us in the future, we will work enthusiastically under the roof of our association to empower both each other and our sector.
The Turkish research sector is not where it deserves to be in terms of economic size. While it should be growing much faster than the national economy in terms of volume, it closed the year without growth when we consider the inflation level. According to ESOMAR's 2022 sector report, the global research sector grew by 12 percent in 2022, which is a very significant growth rate for an industry of approximately 130 billion dollars. According to TÜAD's 2022 sector size report, the Turkish research sector grew by 66 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year. In a world where our country is a member of the G20, unfortunately we are not at that level as a sector. According to the ESOMAR report, Turkey's research sector ranks 45th in the world in terms of size. At this point, it is clear that our country has a long way to go in the research sector. It is of great importance for our sector to establish the understanding that research is an investment item for brands. Because it is very difficult and often impossible to make predictions and be successful without doing research. It is very important for decision-makers to act on this fact. As players in the country's sector, we expect decision-makers to increase their research investments with the latest approaches, technologies and valuable human resources.
